A Working from Home Tip

Wear clothes that signify to yourself and your kids when you are in work-mode.

Helen from New Lambton Family Chiropractic became as animated as heck when we started talking about this during my adjustment this morning.

She too swears by it as an act of self-care that has helped immensely across her many years of running a work-from-home business. She and Jeremy call them ‘work clothes’ and ‘play clothes’. ๐Ÿ˜#cute

– it respectfully communicates and makes it easier for our kids to know which ‘mode’ we are in so they can make short or long demands on our time

– it helps us be all-in in our work headspace

– it gives us something to physically ‘cast off’ and mark the end of our workday to transition more easily into our off-duty selves

– it allows the kids to call us on it if are blurring boundaries eg if we are in jeans and doing work stuff

This conversation opened up when she commented on my pretty blue @totemaustralia shirt that I bought three of from @ramjet_78 that -let’s be honest- has gotten a bit snack over the last 6months and which today we had to jiggle up a bit so she could give my mid-back a good adjusting๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚

I wear the same orange beads when I’m working too (also from Ramjet if you are keen) It gives me another thing to symbolically shed when I close off for the day.

What do you think of this?

Is it something you already intentionally do?

Leave a heart in the comments if you hadn’t thought of it before but are keen to action it.
